Little Rock City Info
Little Rock is the capital and the most populous city of the State of Arkansas.

Little Rock attained its name from a small rock formation on the south bank of the Arkansas River called La Petite Roche (the “little rock”). The “little rock” was actually used by early river traffic as a landmark and became a well-known river crossing. Little Rock is an animated metropolitan area with nationally recognized medical centers and excellent public services.

Unlike other suburban areas, it’s easy to get around Little Rock by expressway. Centrally located in the nation, Little Rock is only a few hours drive from major cities. A historic city with lovely neighborhoods, fine museums and scenic parks, Little Rock welcomes visitors from around the world.

Take a picturesque drive through the historic Quapaw Quarter and view the Villa Marre, which was featured in the sitcom “Designing Women”. Civil War sites, picturesque river walks, interactive museums and the new William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park are just a few of Little Rock’s many featured attractions. Take a ride on a beautifully restored 1950’s riverboat.
